💎 What is Bullion?Updated 17 days ago

Bullion coins are primarily valued for their metal content rather than their finish — they’re the go‑to choice for both collectors and investors looking for gold, silver, or platinum in coin form.

Unlike Proof or BU coins, bullion coins are produced in large quantities with less focus on perfect detailing, which makes them more affordable if you’re buying purely for metal value.

They’re usually issued in precious metals — for example:

  • Gold bullion coins, often in weights from 1/10 oz up to 1 oz and beyond

  • Silver bullion coins, often 1 oz or larger

  • Platinum bullion coins for niche investors

Bullion coins are legal tender in their country of issue, but their metal value is often much higher than their face value.

💡 Collector’s tip: While bullion coins are a smart way to own precious metals, certain limited‑edition designs can also become highly sought‑after — so they can tick the collector AND investor box.
